EFL courses and Examinations
EFLcourses and testing are required for a wide spectrum of situations, and therefore our courses are written for specific needs and groupings.

EFL and ESOL courses designed by UTTA are based on the guidelines of a variety of reputable institutions.

KET: Key English Test (A2 level) Cambridge

CPE: Certificate of Proficiency in English 'CPE' is the highest level EFL exam offered by UCLES. British universities recognise it as proof that a student has the language ability needed to study in English at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. (C2)
IELTS: International English Language Testing System - this internationally renowned Cambridge qualification is often a requirement for non English speakers who wish to enrol on University courses in the UK, practice medicine, or gain employment in English speaking companies. Can be taken at Academic or General Training Levels.

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Gateway Qualifications - Suitable for learners staying in England on a long term basis, looking to improve verbal and written skills. Skills for Life levels 1,2, 3 in Reading, Writing, and Speaking and Listening.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 'TOEFL' measures the listening, reading and writing skills of people studying English as a second language. It can be taken as a written or computer-based exam. A satisfactory TOEFL score can be accepted as proof of proficiency in English for admission to most English-language universities, especially in the US and Australia.
'TOEIC' (Test of English for International Communication) 'TOEIC' is used to evaluate the standard of English in academic and business environments. A satisfactory TOEIC score is acceptable proof of proficiency for admission to most community colleges in the US.

City and Guilds (Formerly Pitman)
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) : ESOL tests at Basic, Elementary, Internediate, Higher Intermediate and Advanced. The ability to communicate from basic to advanced levels. A pass at the advanced level can provide evidence of the level of proficiency accepted in English medium institutes of higher education and consequently reflects more academic requirements.
SESOL (Spoken English for Speakers of Other Languages) : Spoken ESOL ranges from basic to advanced and consists of a one-to-one recorded interview.Basic, Elementary, Internediate, Higher Intermediate and Advanced.
YESOL (Young Learners English for Speakers of Other Languages) : Includes topics which will appeal to young learners aged between eight and 13 years old such as toys, hobbies, animals/pets and science fiction.
English for Business Communication: English for Business Communication is available at three levels. Candidates need to have a background knowledge of office practice and organisation. Levels 1, 2, 3.
English for Office Skills: Specifically designed for people performing secretarial or other office-based tasks. Levels 1 and 2.
Communication in Technical English - Advanced.
UK Visas and exams accepted for immigration purposes
There is much contradictory information about this, particularly as things change faster than online websites, however a December 2015 update on the UK Visas and Immigration section of the Government website says that the required level of English is only provided with the following examinations: Trinity Integrated Skills in English, Graded Examinations in Spoken English, IELTS LIfe Skills and IELTS appear to be the only four ESOL exams ccepted for immigration purposes in the UK.
Requirements at this time (Jan 2016) are that applicant should have attained a B1 level in a Higher Education Institution or a B2 level if outside, and that the testing centres have to be secure centres only. The link in the header here should clarify this.
